This
cartoon-based presentation, updated to incorporate the 2002 amendments
in the legislation, is designed to give people who come within
the scope of these regulations and their immediate managers an
insight into the requirements.
A short
introduction comprised a definition of a user and outlines the
responsibilities of both the users and the employers responsible
for such usage. This is followed by a presentation of the health
issues which can be attributable to use of VDU’s ;principally
eye and eyesight, upper limb and back problems stress and fatigue
whilst emphasizing that all of these work related issues can be
eliminated by using a pro-active preventative approach.
In addition,
the scope of the assessment including key factors such as desk,
monitor, keyboard, mouse, posture and other factors such seating,
lighting, noise are discussed and appropriate advice given.
