Target
Audience: People who are required to carry out manual handling
tasks as part of their work and their managers / supervisors.
This module has been designed to help people to understand the requirements
of the Manual Handling Regulations. This cartoon-based presentation
consists of 5 main sections, the task, the load, the working environment,
the individual and "other factors". Using cartoons, the
trainer explains the practicalities of the legislation covering the
key areas of the task, the loads, the working environment, individual
capability and other factors. He addresses the different components
of lifting, handling, twisting, etc., in a way that the audience will
be entertained and simultaneously receive a strong preventative educational
message designed to encourage them to stop and think before lifting
and twisting.
